These are, indeed meter sticks. The person who left a one star review apparently doesn't know that 90 cm +10 cm is 100 cm (1 meter).
They have inches on the other side of the stick. They are made in China and are of moderate quality wood. I bought 30 for my classroom and they will do perfectly.

This ruler is NOT a meter. Only 90 cm, so useless as a scientific tool.
